Ornithopters for the Dune graphic novel

Birdlike and insectile flying machine designs for the official Dune graphic novel.

We wanted to make something mechanical and avianor insectile but also that seemed timeless, part old fashioned part futuristic, simple, much of the complexity hidden:; perhaps these machines are centuries old but theyre very durable, very advanced, with few moving parts, working on principles we dont possess yet; solid state jet engines, electromechanical muscle fibres, self-repairing wood-like ceramic materials that are also batteries and computers., rounded like a pebble worn smooth by the elements, or a piece of burned driftwood or .. etc. See what you think!
The work is roughly newest to oldest so moving up from the bottom of the page shows the progrression of my ideas in repsonse to my AD's requirments.
